Design effectiveness gold for be a star

The Hub struck ‘gold’ at the Design Business Association's (DBA) Design Effectiveness awards, winning a gong for its Be A Star social marketing campaign.

The gold award was secured in the Design for Society category.

Initially developed for Central Lancashire PCT , Be A Star is now being adopted by other PCTs across the UK.

The programme aims to increase awareness and take-up among young mothers from deprived areas of the benefits related to breastfeeding their babies.

The programme’s objectives are to help improve the short and long-term health of both mothers and babies which the NHS believes in the longer term will translate into “huge cost savings for the NHS.”

The campaign involved a variety of initiatives, from public and stakeholder engagement through to peer group influence and a ‘through-the-line communications campaign’.
